Army-innovated new Software Solution Commissioned at SL Customs
The Sri Lanka Army's Directorate of Information Technology (DIT) developed a new software solution to the Sri Lanka Customs to further facilitate its digitalization process recently.
A group of software engineers of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps innovated the software solution, named "E-Memo System" with the blessings of the Army Commander Lt. Gen. Vikum Liyanage, the Army sources stated.
The simple commissioning ceremony of the new solution took place in the presence of several officers, including Director General Customs Maj. Gen. Vijitha Ravipriya (Retd), Army's Director - IT Brig. Sajith Liyanage and officials.
The Sri Lanka Customs, now fully geared to accelerate its digitalization process considering it as a national priority, in order to cut down its colossal expenditure of Rs. 22 million on office stationery at least by 50%, the Army Media confirmed.
