SRI LANKA ARMY STARTED TO DISTRIBUTE OF FUEL WITH A NEWLY INTRODUCED FUEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

A novel software solution named Fuel Management System (FMS) is on the verge of introducing to the Sri Lanka Army by the Directorate of Information Technology. Taking another step of the digitization process for fuel distribution, an initial training session was successfully conducted for the staff of the Directorate of Supply and Transport, and all staff members of SFHQ West area fuel distribution stations.

A newly introduced Fuel Management System, integrating with following facilities for smooth functioning of distribution of fuels within the Army.

- Monitoring of consumption and allocation of fuels
- Forecasting future requirements
- Obtaining real-time stock availability
- Enhance the accuracy of records
- Reducing time spent on the fueling process
- Reducing the paper cost
- Generating dynamic reports for managerial decision making

The SFHQ West area started the parallel run with the new system on the first week of February 2023 and the Directorate of Information Technology of Sri Lanka Army expects to enhance the Fuel Management System facility island wide soon.
