TECHNICAL SEMINAR ON "NETWORK CENTRIC APPROACH TOWARDS FUTURE LAND, SEA, AIR OPERATIONS"
The College of Military Engineering and Technology, Sri Lanka (CMETSL) successfully conducted First ever Technical Seminar on the topic of "Network Centric Approach Towards Future Land, Sea and Air Operations" on 04th April 2023 at the Admiral Somathilaka Dissanayake Auditorium, Navy Headquarters, Colombo. Eng. Tilak De Silva, Chairman of Engineering Council, Sri Lanka (ECSL), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Papers were presented on following topics by members of CMETSL as indicated below.
a. "Network-Centric Approach & Maritime Domain Awareness Strategies for Maritime Security & Economic Prosperity" by Rear Admiral TWW Leelarathna.
b. "Threat Intelligence in Cyberspace: Identifying the Sources of Cyber threats, Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPS) with an understanding of the Importance of Building a Responsible Metaverse" by Brigadier GLSW Liyanage.
c. "Network Centric Warfare Domain of Air Operation" by Wing Commander VPS Gunasekara.
Air Vice Marshal AS Vithana (Retd) who is the former Director Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering in SLAF moderated the session. Over 250 members of CMETSL from Army, Navy and Air Force attended for the seminar and an interactive session which delved on how Sri Lankan Military engaged with enemy through limited Network Centric operational resources with scarce financial resources during the humanitarian operation. The necessity of more integrated and joint operations in the Network Centric domain were highlighted by the panel and the senior members of the organization.
