BUILDING THE FUTURE: A MODERN AND UNIQUE WASHROOM COMPLEX FOR DHARMARAJA COLLEGE KANDY WAS CONSTRUCTED BY SLAF
In the pursuit of providing a holistic educational experience, a modern and unique washroom complex was declared opened at Dharmaraja College Kandy. With a vision to revolutionize the traditional washroom concept, this ambitious endeavor has been aimed to create a space that fosters innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity. The construction of this remarkable project was carried out by the Directorate of Construction Engineering, Sri Lanka Air Force.
It was a magical architectural design and various innovative things were used to get a unique appearance beyond the conventional washroom concepts in Sri Lanka. Specially designed hollow blocks were used for outer walls to get the natural ventilation instead of mechanical air circulation systems ensuring privacy and comfort for all users. In addition to that some walls around the washroom complex was constructed using non-decay goods like plastic, polythene etc. giving decent massage to everyone. The Old Boys Association, fund raisers and School community of the Dharmaraja College have been wanted to complete this as a Smart Washroom Complex using high sensor accessories to make the new technology on hands to the students and it was happened successfully.
As the construction team, Sri Lanka Air Force was able to realize this marvelous architectural design as an eye catching point with their professional experiences in construction, creating lasting impression on users. Other important thing was, the sustainable practices and green initiatives were integrated throughout the design and construction phases. Inclusive design was a fundamental aspect of this project. The construction of this kind of unique washroom complex was not just about bricks and mortar; it was a journey that brought the school community together. As the school community steps into the future, this remarkable project will continue to serve as a symbol of progress and transformation. By embracing modernity and breaking away from conventional norms, Dharmaraja college inspires others to embark on their journey towards building a better tomorrow.
