Necessities and demands in the Army are dynamic in nature. Presently, the country is combatting the pandemic as well as financial crisis due to global economic conditions. Catering for the ever-increasing demands, the Corps of EME has carried out modifications on vehicles to suite the desired purposes.
SPECIAL VEHICLE FOR MILITARY VETERANS OF SRI LANKA
A vintage Toyota bus acquired from the River Valley Development Board was modified by 403 SLEME Base Workshop - Katubedda to facilitate Military Veterans of Sri Lanka to demonstrate their respect at the Independence Day celebrations.
SPECIAL VEHICLES FOR DISABLED WAR HEROES OF SRI LANKA
Vehicle carriers were modified by 403 SLEME Base Workshop - Katubedda to facilitate disabled military war heroes to express their respect at the 73rd Independence Day celebrations.
REGIMENT COLOUR CARRIER
Land Rover Defender Jeep was modified by 403 SLEME Base Workshop - Katubedda to fetch the Colours of the Gajaba Regiment.
UTILITY VEHICLE
Toyota Land Cruiser HZJ 78 was modified by 403 SLEME Base Workshop - Katubedda as a utility vehicle.
MOBILE MEDICAL CLINIC
Toyota Coaster bus was modified as a mobile clinic by 403 SLEME Base Workshop - Katubedda within 7 days to provide medical facilities to rural villages while H.E. the President visiting on 'Gama Samaga Pilisandarak Programme'. This bus was facilitated with two separate compartments for an eye clinic and ultra sound scanning.
MOBILE DENTAL SURGERY
Mitsubishi Rosa bus was modified as a Mobile Dental Surgery by 403 SLEME Base Workshop - Katubedda to provide dental facilities to rural areas.
MOBILE OPERATION ROOM FOR URBAN FIGHTING
Unicorn MK VI was modified by 403 SLEME Base Workshop - Katubedda as a mobile operation room for the Special Force operations in urban fighting.
ARMY PARATROOPERS TRANSPORT BUS
TATA Star bus was modified by 402 SLEME Base Workshop - Udawalawa to facilitate paratroopers to carry their parachute equipment safely in controlled environmental conditions.
MOBILE STUDIO FOR ARMY BAND & PERFORMING ARTS TROOPS
Ashok Leyland bus was modified as a Mobile Studio by 501 Sri Lanka Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Factory - Kosgama to facilitate Army Band and Performing Arts troops.
LIGHT VEHICLE RECOVERIES
Toyota Land Cruiser BJ 43 & BJ 73 were modified by 403 SLEME Base Workshop - Katubedda as Light Vehicle Recoveries.

Mitsubishi Crew Cab was modified by 501 Sri Lanka Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Factory - Kosgama to provide required transportation for sophisticated communication equipment.
MOBILE VEGETABLE STALL
TATA 709 Truck was modified by 501 Sri Lanka Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Factory - Kosgama as a vegetable stall to assist affected local population during the lockdown period. A heavy vehicle was modified by 402 SLEME Base Workshop - Udawalawa as a Wing Body Truck to cater for the requirements of the Headquarter Battalion - Army HQ.
