I was born on 21st October 1968 and attended to Bandaranayake Collage Gampaha. I joined the Sri Lanka Air Force as an Officer Cadet on the 17th of June 1988 to the Aeronautical and General Engineering Branch with the 19th Intake of Officer Cadets. I successfully completed the Officer Cadets Basic Combat Course at Sri Lanka Air Force Combat Training School Diyatalawa, Basic Administrative Course and Engineering Branch Training Course at Sri Lanka Air Force Academy China Bay. I was commissioned on the 06th of July 1990 in the rank of Pilot Officer and elevated to my present rank on the 01st of May 2022 During my service career I was entrusted with many key appointments including the Commanding Officer of Aeronautical Engineering Support Wing SLAF Base Ratmalana, Commanding Officer of SLAF Trade Training School Ekala, Staff Officer General Engineering I, Command Quality Assurance Officer, Secretary to the Commander of the Air Force (Air Secretary), Deputy Director General Engineering, Deputy Director Aeronautical Engineering at Air Force Headquarters Colombo and currently is assigned with duties as the Director, General Engineering of Sri Lanka Air Force. I have been awarded with “Rana Wikrama Padakkama, Rana Sura Padakkama in recognition of the bravery shown during my Operational Flying tenure as a Flight Engineer during Mullaithive rescue operation in 1996. I was also awarded with Uttama Seva Padakkama. I have achieved many milestones in my academic career including the Junior Command and Staff Course at Bangladesh, Senior Command and Staff Course at Pakistan and Aircraft Maintenance Officer Course at USA . Also I am a civil Liaison holder of Aircraft Maintenance issued by the CAASL as well. In addition, I hold the appointment as the Chairman, Sri Lanka Air Force Basketball. ”.
