Lieutenant (SH) JPPK Jayalath joined the Sri Lanka Navy on 08th January 2016 as a direct entry officer of the Shipwright Branch, after higher education in Ocean University at Colombo 15, Sri Lanka. I have obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Engineering stream from Ocean University year 2015 and I have undergone industrial training as Marine Engineering Trainee at Sri Lanka Ports Authority and Colombo Dockyard PLC for 06 months. Further, I have successfully completed Computer Aided Drafting Course Using AutoCAD at University of Colombo. I assumed my first appointment as Hull Engineer (Workshop) under Commodore Superintendent Dockyard (East) at SLN Dockyard. During an impressive career spanning of 07 years, I hold many key appointments including Hull Engineer (Workshop) at Eastern Naval Command (2017), Hull Engineer (Fleet & Workshop) at Northern Naval Command (2018), Hull Engineer (Slip & Refit) at Southern Naval Command (2019), Hull Engineer (Fleet & Workshop) at Southern Naval Command (2020), Hull Engineer (Workshop, Quality Assurance & Training) at Eastern Naval Command (2021), A/Senior Hull Engineer (NCC) at North Central Command (2021) and presently I holding my appointment as a Hull Engineer onboard SLNS Vijayabahu.
