I was born on 24th March 1968 and studied at Nalanda Collage Colombo until I joined the Sri Lanka Air Force as an Officer Cadet on the 04th October 1989 to the Aeronautical and General Engineering Branch with the 21st Officer Cadets Intake. I successfully completed the Officer Cadets Basic Combat Course at Sri Lanka Air Force Combat Training School Diyatalawa, Basic Administrative Course and Engineering Branch Training Course at Sri Lanka Air Force Academy China Bay and SLAF Trade Training School Ekala. I was commissioned on the 17th August 1992 as a Pilot Officer and elevated to my present rank on the 02nd October 2019. I commenced my engineering career as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer in No.05 Jets Squadron. During my service career I was entrusted with many key appointments including the Officer Commanding Maintenance in No.06 MI 17 Helicopter Squadron, Officer Commanding Technical Services in the SLAF Base Rathmalana, Katunayake and Colombo, Quality Assurance Officer in Katunayake, Rathmalana and Command Quality Assurance Inspector Aeronautical and General Engineering in Command Quality Assurance Inspectorate, Staff Officer Aeronautical Engineering II, Staff Officer Research; Engineering in Command Research and Development Cell, Chief Engineer Sri Lanka Aviation Unit in United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in South Sudan and Commanding Officer appointments of Research and Development Wing, Mechanical Transport and Overhaul Wing and General Engineering Wing. Experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the military industry in this country as well as United Nations Mission in South Sudan. I have logged more than 1000 flying hours as a Qualified Flight Engineer as well as Master Flight Engineer in Mi-17 Helicopters for more than ten years.
