Ex-Military officer turned fully dedicated techno-social entrepreuner, to serve better, Allways" Joined the Sri Lanka Army on 28th Apr 1980 as an Officer Cadet and then commissioned to Sri Lanka Signal Corps as a 2nd Lieutenant on successful completion of Military Training initially at Officers Training School (OTS), Madras, now named as Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, INDIA and then at Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA), DIYATALAWA. Thereafter, held number of command, staff, technical, training, administrative, logistical, advisory, research & development appointments in operational and peace stations in the Army, as well as at MODSL. Served as Colonel Commandant/Chief Signals Officer/Chief Innovations Officer/Commander Signal Brigade of the Sri Lanka Army. Held several appointments as a member of advisory committees at MoD/TRCSL/Media Ministry. Pioneered the Defense R & D initiative as the Chief Controller, Center for Research and Development (CRD), MoD, Sri Lanka during the last phase of humanitarian operations conducted to liberate northern part of Sri Lanka free from terrorism and retired in the rank of Major General with effective from 16 Aug 2014. Decorated with several gallantry/service medals and honors being among most decorated senior signal officer from the Sri Lankan Malay community to have served the country so far. Accomplished Table Tennis player to have won several championship medals for the regiment/army. Presently involved in several projects to promote M2M, M2H, IOT, IIOT, Security and Defence related start-up projects providing consultancy services and solutions to explore business opportunities based in Sri Lanka and overseas. Specialties: Practising Certified Security Management Professional (CSMP®) from International Security Management Institute (ISMI®), UK accredited by Skills for Security, the UK’s sector skills body for the private security industry, under the leadershipn of the British Security Industry Association (BSIA), accredited as a Level 6 Organization Diploma by IQ – Industry Qualifications, UK. Passed Finalist at Australian Computer Association Examination IT.
