Wing Commander Muthukuda Arachchige Gayan Rajindra Kumaragama MMS (Mil Com PRC) BSc (Aero Eng) psc Muthukuda Arachchige Gayan Rajindra Kumaragama was born on 17th November 1982 at Karawanella located in the Sabaragamuwa Province of Sri Lanka. He had his primary education at Rajasinghe Central College, Ruwanwella and he subsequently entered St Sebastians College Moratuwa for his advanced education. During his school days, he was an active participant in academic as well as extra-curricular activities in the school and he also performed as a school prefect. He joined the Sri Lanka Air Force as an Officer Cadet of the 21st Intake of Kotelawala Defense University on 05th October 2003. Once again he excelled during his Bachelor’s Degree and was placed Second upper grade. He then proceeded to SLAF Base Katunayake as an Engineering Officer. In the year 2008 he was posted to Sri Lanka Air Force Morawewa as Officer Command Technical Services. In the year 2012, he was posted to No 2 Heavy Transport Squadron at SLAF Base Katunayake and in that Squadron he got qualified as a Flight engineer on AN32B and C130 aircraft fleet. In year 2017 he completed his civil aviation license examination for B 1:1 aircraft maintenance Engineer conducted by Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka. In year 2018 he became first in Staff College selection examination and in same year he successfully completed the Staff course with the Master’s degree at Air Force Command College Beijing China. During his service career he has contributed immensely towards the cause of the Sri Lanka Air Force by performing duties as a Qualified Flight engineer and maintenance engineer in both C130 and An32B aircraft fleet of the SLAF.
