I am holding the position of Head of Cyber Security Wing at Centre for Defence Research and Development (CDRD) currently. I have contributed to setting up Defence Cyber Security Operations Centre (DCSOC), and also added more value to establishing Defence Command, Control, Communications & Intelligence Centre (DC3IC). I also have actively involved in formulating Defence Cyber Command Act to establish Defencce Cyber Command (DCC). Established Cisco Networking Academy at CDRD and become accredited Netacad Instructor (Cybersecurity & Networking) for training Army, Navy & Airforce officers at Centre for Defence Research and Development Centre. Initiated Dialog 5G innovation centre at CDRD and held the appointment as the Lab Director. Some of the research contributions during CDRD are; Development of ‘Data-driven cyber threat hunting approach for Sri Lanka Defence’ (Knowledge was transferred to SL CERT along with resource personnel for setting up National SOC), Development of ‘Model Security Operations Centre (SOC) using open-source tools’ (Knowledge was transferred to SL CERT along with resource personnel for setting up National SOC), Coordinated a collaborative project conducted by Professor Chandana Gamage (UoM) titled ‘Honeypots for Cyber-Physical Systems’ with the Centre for Defence Research and Development (CDRD) to establish a Critical Information Infrastructure lab.
