AIR VICE MARSHAL P RANASINGHE USP, MSc (NSWS – Pak), MSc (Def Stu) in Mgt, MSc (Mil Stu), MHR, LLB, ndc, psc I joined the Sri Lanka Air Force as an Officer Cadet on 17th June 1988 and was commissioned in the year 1990. Since becoming a Pilot Officer and up to the rank of Air Vice Marshal, I was entrusted with many key appointments in the Sri Lanka Air Force. Some of the key appointments I held so far are; Commanding Officer General Engineering Wing and Commanding Officer Aeronautical Engineering Wing at SLAF Base Katunayake, Staff Officer General Engineering I and Staff Officer Aeronautical Engineering I at Air Force Head Quarters Colombo, Commanding Officer Sri Lanka Air Force Trade Training School Ekala, Acting Commandant Sri Lanka Air Force Academy Chinabay, Commanding Officer Junior Command & Staff College Sri Lanka Air Force Academy Chinabay, Chief Instructor of Air Wing – Defense Services Command and Staff College Sri Lanka and Director General Engineering of Sri Lanka Air Force. Currently I am entrusted with duties as the Director Aeronautical Engineering of Sri Lanka Air Force. Furthermore, I was able to achieve many milestones in my academic carrier and obtained Bachelor of Laws Degree, Masters in Human Rights from University of Colombo, Masters in Defence and Strategic Studies in Management, Masters in Military Studies and Masters of Science in National Security and War Studies. In addition, I have followed many Engineering and Military trainings in overseas as well as in Sri Lanka and qualified with ‘ndc’ from the National Defense University Pakistan and ‘psc’ from Defense Services Command and Staff College in Mirpur, Bangladesh. Moreover, I was decorated with Uththama Sewa Padakkama (USP) and many medals in my military carrier. I am an old boy of prestigious St Joseph’s College Colombo and I am married to Chandima Ranasinghe and blessed with a daughter.
