About Me
Commodore (E) MCP Dissanayake, is a fully-fledged Engineer employed in the Sri Lanka Navy; since 1992. He graduated from Naval College of Engineering, Indian Naval Ship Shivaji, and affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru University, India, and Undergone Marine Engineering Specialization for Marine Engineers as a Post-Graduation in marine engineering field at Center of Marine Engineering Technology, INS Shivaji, India. In addition, he specialized in Nuclear, Biological, Chemical, and Defence, including Fire Fighting on board a ship. Eventually, he read his MSc (Naval Engineering) from Australian Maritime College, University of Tasmania. He is an innovator and invented many technical models for Sri Lanka Navy and the Country. He is a Cooperate Member of Engineers India, Cooperate Member of Engineers UK, and Fellow Member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architecture. He is the commissioned officer; and obtained basic military training from General Sir John Kotalawala Defence University, Sri Lanka. Further, he had undergone professional military training from India, Pakistan, New Zeeland, Singapore, Indonesia, and Germany in his illustrious career. He was awarded eleven medals for his outstanding service rendered to the nation.

- Awarded 09 numbers Letter of Commendation by Commander of the Navy for innovations and R&D works in SLN
- Awarded Letter of Commendation by HE the President for designed and developed low cost Reverse Osmosis Plant to provide safe drinking water to CKDu impacted areas in the country.
- Awarded Japanese, Sri Lanka technical award for designing and development of low cost Reverse Osmosis Plant.
- Awarded Best Research Paper Award KDU IRC 2021 for research paper of “Chronic Kidney Disease of unknown etiology in Sri Lanka: An implication of Optimizing Recovery Ratio of Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis plant”
