About Me
I am Lt (L) FD Thushara, joined with Sri Lanka Navy on 15 Nov 2004 as an artificer. I have successfully completed three years full time Diploma with first class in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering in Naval Artificer Training Institute (Currently NIT) and also I have been awarded Best apprentice awards, Best Radio Electronic Artificer Award and Best Sportsman Awards in 2nd intake of NATI. I performed duties in the Command Telecommunication workshop (UHF and VHF) as a Class IV Artificer in dockyard and was responsible for all the VHF and UHF Communication Equipment including repeater and also specially repairing and maintenance of cougar com set and the island wide network. During the war period plotting repeater concept was introduced and the survey/ researched is also carried out. In year 2009 performed duties in the SLNS Samudura and was responsible for repairing and maintaining of all communication, navigation and Electronic Equipment as an artificer class iv. Further server and the fiber network in the ship completely renovated and enhanced the system. Furthermore I was actively participated for the MILAN 2010 held at Andaman Island representing Sri Lanka Navy. I was the first Artificer who was attached to the Biomedical Workshop in year 2010. Further I successfully completed three months Biomedical Equipment Training course at the Sabaragamuwa province Government Biomedical Workshop. I was the in charge of Electrical and Electronic Workshop in the Naval ship Jetliner and was responsible for repairing and maintaining of all electronic, navigation, communication equipment in the ship. In addition to the all the entertaining equipment likes DJ, Music and PA system. Further I was participated to the Handing over Taking over process of the jetliner as a Class II artificer (workshop In charge) . Furthermore I was attended to the voyage to the Indonesia for handing over of jetliner. I have successfully completed three years (NVQ 6, SLQF 4) Higher National Diploma in Biomedical Equipment Technology in University Collage of Health studies in Sri Jayawardanapura General Hospital. Further I was trained in Government Biomedical Engineering Service unit in Colombo, duration six month regarding the biomedical equipment used in Hospital Sri Lanka. I have successfully completed Advanced Technician Diploma in City and Guild (Level 5) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. I was commissioned as an Acting Sub Lieutenant (Electrical and Electronic Engineer) in year 2018 by Successfully completing one year training at Naval and Maritime Academy and also completed 6 month Engineering workshop Training in Naval Dockyard Trincomalee. I was responsible for all the biomedical equipment (Radiology, Cardiology, Laboratory, ETU, Theater, CSSD, ENT, Endoscopy ect..) in Navy General Hospital for maintaining ,repair and also procurement as a biomedical engineer further I was responsible for repairing and maintenance of all the communication equipment under Electronic repair workshop as an Electronic engineer. Furthermore I was responsible for repair and maintaining of power generation and distribution illumination (lighting), ventilation (fan) , elevators, fire alarm system and other maintenance as a maintenance engineer of the Navy General Hospital from year 2018 to 2020. I was responsible for the repair and maintenance of all the biomedical equipment in the Northern naval Command, North Central Naval Command and Northwest Naval Command Hospital as a Biomedical Engineer in the command biomedical workshop. Further I was responsible for utility in the North Central naval Command as an Electrical Engineer from 2021 to 2022 Currently I as servicing as an auditor and inspector (Acting Staff Electrical and Electronic Engineering officer) under Director naval inspectorate and I am responsible for auditing and inspecting all the Electrical, Electronic and Telecommunication and Biomedical Equipment, procedure, maintenance and other matters related to naval duties and responsibilities. However I am having 18 years experiences in the field of engineering holding various appointments as an artificer and Engineer.
