CMETSL SHOWCASING MILITARY INNOVATION: ARMY, NAVY, AND AIR FORCE AT TECHNO 36

The College of Military Engineering represented the Army, Navy, and Air Force at the Techno 36 exhibition, which took place from October 11 to 13, 2024, at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH). This annual event was organized by the Institute of Engineers Sri Lanka. This significant event highlighted the advanced technical capabilities and engineering prowess of the military forces, captivating attendees with innovative displays and hands-on experiences.
Among the standout exhibits were simulators that offered a realistic training environment for personnel, covering various operational scenarios and allowing attendees to experience firsthand the training processes utilized by the military. Additionally, the display featured in-house developed systems, which serve as a testament to the ingenuity and expertise of military engineers, showcasing the potential for homegrown technology to effectively meet defense needs. The exhibition also highlighted the latest engineering marvels of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, further demonstrating their commitment to innovation and advancement in military technology.

The outdoor display was a major attraction, featuring an array of in-house developed Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs), boats, and working helicopter models. These impressive military exhibits not only drew crowds but also served as a practical demonstration of the military's capabilities in various terrains and operational contexts. Attendees were particularly fascinated by the advanced design and engineering that went into these vehicles, highlighting the military's commitment to modernization and effectiveness.

The inauguration ceremony of Techno 36 was held on October 11, 2024, featuring distinguished guests invited by the Institute of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL), including the President of College of Military Engineering and Technology Sri Lanka (CMETSL) Major General Sajith Liyanage, President Elect of CMETSL Air Vice Marshal Gihan Senevirathne, and the Vice President of CMETSL Rear Admiral Prashantha Anthony.
The second day of the 'Techno 2024' National Engineering and Technology Exhibition commenced on 12 October 2024 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), under the distinguished participation of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa as the chief guest who is both an aviator and a qualified engineer. The President CMETSL Major General Sajith Liyanage graced the second day of the 'Techno 2024' as the Guest of Honour.

The College of Military Engineering's participation in Techno 36 exemplifies the dedication of the Army, Navy, and Air Force to innovation and excellence in engineering.
