COVID 19 INNOVATIONS AND CONTRIBUSION TO CONTROL PANDEMIC SITUATION.
ALTERNATIVE RESPIRATORY MACHINE FOR VENTILATION
With the utmost guidance and support of the Head of National Centre for Prevention of COVID -19 Outbreak, Chief of Defence staff and Commander of the Army, Corps of EME has extended technical assistance for carrying out researches to innovate and manufacture several medical equipment to control pandemic situation in the country. Most of the timely required innovations helped immensely to fight against the pandemic situation. Innovations done by the Corps of EME were recognized and approved by medical standardization institutions as well. The Medical Council of Sri Lanka also recognized the Corps of EME as the Second Runner-up in related to the innovations carried out on controlling COVID-19 pandemic.
The Secretary of Defence and the Head, National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army have inspected innovations done by the Army in controlling COVID -19 pandemic.
Alternative Respiratory Machine for Ventilation (ARMV 1) fabricated by the Army was awarded all Island 3rd place and appreciated all the effort taken by the Corps of EME to control COVID -19 pandemic at 'Health Innovations for Tomorrow - 2020', organized by the Sri Lanka Medical Association.
