UPGRADATION OF NAVAL STEERING CONTROL SYSTEM (NSC)/ SDAMS (SHIPBOARD DATA ACQUISITION AND MONITORING SYSTEM) FOR FAST ATTACK CRAFT.
The indigenously designed Naval Steering Control (NSC)/ Shipboard Data Acquisition And Monitoring System (SDAMS) project by Electrical New Design Center (ENDC) have been commenced to replace obsolete ACS Steering Control System into PLC based NSC and Blue vision monitoring system into SDAMS (Shipboard Data Acquisition and Monitoring System) on Fast Attack Craft due to non-responsiveness of OEM and limited funds availability of SLN for OEM up gradation.
Programmable Logic Controller has been used for the project and it was successfully installed onboard a FAC in year 2022. This project saved Rs. 21 Million per craft for the Sri Lanka Navy. Presently all systems are running smoothly and the total savings by introducing the indigenously designed NSC/SDAMS by ENDC for a Fast attack craft is Rs. 63 million.
